The Child Nutrition Outreach Program has advised us that some families are confused about how to activate their cards. They have asked us to share the information below.

To Activate Your P-EBT Card

* Call the phone number on the back of the card: Massachusetts' EBT Hotline, (800) 997-2555.
* Create a PIN: Enter your P-EBT card number. It will then prompt you to enter the last 4 digits of your social security number - do not enter the last 4 digits of your social security number. Instead, enter the last 4 digits of your child's case number that was provided on the letter you got in the mail. Then enter the child's date of birth (using the 2 digit month + 2 digit day + 4 digit year. Example: 04/06/2005)
* If you did not receive a letter in the mail from DTA or you lost your letter, call Project Bread's FoodSource Hotline (800) 645-8333.

For more information on using P-EBT benefits, please visit www.map-ebt.org You can find information on things like:

1. Getting help activating your P-EBT card: clear step-by-step instructions are provided.
2. Requesting your case number if the letter was lost or not received: DTA has created a site for families to automatically generate their child's case number! Simply enter the P-EBT card number to receive your child's case number. The page includes printable information on how to PIN the card and also refers families to a SNAP application. Please note that this is not available on the DTA Connect mobile app.
3. Getting more information on how to use benefits in the store or (NEW!) online at Amazon and Walmart
