Are you having trouble staying connected to Meet?  Try these tips to improve Meet performance/  Try these one at a time to try to address your performance issue.

  1. Make sure you are on a good Wi-Fi connection. Move to the same or closer room that your Internet Router/Access point is located in your home.
  2. Reduce the resolution for Video in Meet (click the 3 dot menu in the lower right, choose settings. Click on Video and choose Standard Definition over High Definition for send and receive. It may already be on Standard Definition).
  3. Turn off the Grid View Extension or other unneeded extensions. The more participants you try to view, the harder Meet has to work which can cause issues with your connection. Too many extensions take up system resources. In your Chrome Browser go to chrome://Extensions (or use the three-dot menu in the upper right, choose More Tools, then Extensions). Turn the radio button off on the Grid View extension or other extensions you are not using.
  4. Use the Spotlight or Sidebar Layout in Meet instead of Tiled view (click the three-dot menu in the bottom right of your Meet session and choose Change Layout)
  5. Limit the number of other Chrome tabs you have open. Each tab you have open takes up resources
  6. As a last resort, turn off your camera.
